Needing both high-quality PDF and Excel documents, Peter says, “Cumulus [acquired by Nvidia] tested a number of both paid and open source tools including LaTeX, Adobe and others. But DocRaptor’s API and flexibility make it a real standout.”

Clean Catalog needs documents with custom, per-customer branding (typography, colors, etc.) and they must meet strict accessibility standards, supporting students and faculty with vision impairments. The PDFs must be in a digital and printed format and created by a rendering engine reliable enough for an automatic pipeline.
DocRaptor’s SaaS-based model and Prince partnership allow Clean Catalog to easily create their complex PDFs. Functionally such as an automatic table of contents and tagged (accessible) PDFs from Prince “allows us to do all of that easily using just CSS and Javascript”, said Rory Douglas.

“I started with dompdf, wkhtmltopdf, PhantomJS, and who knows how many other solutions”, says Connor Tumbleson. “We pivoted to Headless Chrome to build something to load our page and screenshot it, but it was very hacky and only sometimes worked.”
Connor eventually discovered PrinceXML, which led him to DocRaptor and our budget-friendly SaaS model. After all the stress of other solutions, DocRaptor was easy and fast. Connor recalls, “a few more hours to finalize the styling for edge to edge design with page numbers and our reports were perfect.”.

Sourcetoad develops applications for cruise ships. Their applications that make operations easier for the staff and bring convenience to guests. They need to create PDFs from complex, JavaScript-heavy reports.

Like many DocRaptor users, Social Ink needs to generate many different types of documents—but all must be high-quality. “We internally create proposals, invoices, and other documents which are then either emailed or printed as necessary,” says Yoni Reinberg. They also need PDF generation in customer applications for “clients who need to generate filled out forms or on-the-fly reports.”
DocRaptor’s handling of any kind of PDF combined with ease of installation is perfect for Social Ink. “DocRaptor has great libraries across most of the programming languages we use.”, Yoni says. “And DocRaptor tutorials are solid, documentation is well written–with a human language touch–and the support/chat is personal and not automated.”

Rocha Jarude Advogados creates contracts, legal briefs, and other mission-critical documents via an integrated pipeline with tools such as Docmosis and Formstack Documents. But in the final step, they required a more sophisticated PDF generator to meet aesthetic and legal standards.
According to Luiz, “Prince's capabilities are indispensable for our use case. It enables us to programmatically generate PDFs with a more complex structure.” DocRaptor’s HTTP API allows Rocha Jarude to easily integrate Prince document generation into their AWS Lambda-based document pipeline.
